Can I search what was actually said on an episode?
Caption and transcript search works today - you can find a line across the season and see which episode it is on. Being built now: asking in plain English and getting the timecode back, plus the same questions about deadlines and who has what. That part is in development and is not available yet.
Today: yes, for captions. Wheelhouse indexes what went out on air, so you can search a line across the season and find which episode carries it.
Being built: asking the same thing in plain English and getting the timecode back (“where does she say the thing about the dog?”), along with questions about the board itself: what is due Thursday, who has 1062, whether anyone flagged the cold open.
That second part is in development and not available yet. It is described here so the direction is visible, not to suggest you can use it now.
What it will answer from
Your show’s own records, and nothing else. The board, the handoff history, the transcripts and captions, the packages and deliverables.
It is not being built to be knowledgeable about post-production in general. It is being built to answer what your show did.
The rules it will follow
An assistant that makes things up is worse than no assistant. A wrong answer delivered confidently costs more than no answer, and it is far harder to notice. So it inherits the rules the board already keeps:
- It answers from your records, or it does not answer.
- Anything from a transcript carries its timecode. If a line cannot be placed on a frame, it says so rather than guessing one.
- It inherits confirmed and estimated. A projection cannot become a fact by being rephrased as a sentence.
- “Nobody has checked” and “it is not there” stay different answers.
Where you will use it
In the product, and from whatever assistant your team already has open. It exposes the show through a standard connector, so nobody has to paste anything into a chat window to ask about their own season.
