When the program in your building cannot reach a drive - it is offline, the volume is unmounted, the network is down - Wheelhouse falls back to estimated dates, worked out from the air date and your show’s schedule. Every affected card says so.
What it does not do
It does not mark anything missing. A drive it cannot reach and a file that is genuinely not there are two different facts, and reporting the first as the second is how a board loses people’s trust in a single afternoon.
It also does not go blank or throw an error at you. A connection that is offline, out of date or sending nonsense can make the board less specific. It can never break it.
Why this matters more than it sounds
The first time a board cries wolf, people start checking it against reality. The second time, they stop opening it. Everything else here depends on the board being believed, which is why this is a rule rather than a preference.
