Does our media have to move to the cloud?
No. Your footage never leaves your building. Wheelhouse has two pieces: a board that runs in the cloud so anyone can open it from anywhere, and a small program that runs inside your facility and reports what it sees. The cloud side never touches your storage, the program in your building does not open anything to the internet, and your logins stay with you.

Wheelhouse has two pieces.
The board runs in the cloud. That is what makes it openable from an edit bay, a home office or a phone without anybody setting up a VPN.
A small program runs inside your facility. It watches your drives and your media system and reports upward what it sees - that a master exists, that a file landed, that a cut was updated. It sends facts, never media.
The three rules that follow
- The cloud side never touches your storage or your media.
- The program in your building does not open a port and does not accept connections. It only sends out, so nothing new is exposed to the internet.
- Your logins for your own systems stay in your building. They are never uploaded.
It is optional too
The program in your building is not required. Without it the board still works from dates and from what people do in it. It shows estimated dates where it would otherwise show confirmed ones, and it says which is which on every card.
